The Indian temple in Tamil Nadu whose Rajagopuram rises about 73 metres is the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple at Srirangam.

Dedicated to Ranganatha, a reclining form of the Hindu god Vishnu, the temple occupies much of the island of Srirangam between the Kaveri and Kollidam rivers. It is one of the most important Vaishnava pilgrimage centres in India and is counted among the 108 Divya Desams, sacred Vishnu temples praised by the Tamil Alvar poet-saints.

The complex contains 21 gopurams, or monumental gateway towers. Its 13-tiered Rajagopuram is the most prominent and reaches approximately 73 metres. Although work on the tower began centuries earlier, it remained incomplete for more than 400 years before being finished in 1987. The temple itself has a much older, continuously evolving history, with structures added and rebuilt across several dynasties.

The temple is sometimes confused with Tamil Nadu's Brihadeeswarar Temple or Meenakshi Temple, both famous landmarks with impressive towers. Srirangam's special distinction is its enormous living temple complex and its exceptionally tall Rajagopuram.
