Which home studio did Taylor Swift use while recording Folklore songs during the pandemic?

The story behind the answer

Taylor Swift used her Los Angeles home studio, Kitty Committee, while recording Folklore during the pandemic.

COVID-19 restrictions closed many recording studios, so Swift built a home setup with help from engineer Laura Sisk. Swift recorded vocals in Los Angeles while Jack Antonoff worked from New York City, and collaborators exchanged digital files remotely.

“August” was recorded at Kitty Committee and Rough Customer, a studio in Brooklyn. The song was later mixed at Long Pond Studio in New York’s Hudson Valley, so those three locations are easy to confuse.

The remote process shaped Folklore’s sound and working method. Aaron Dessner supplied instrumental tracks from his own setup, while Swift and other collaborators developed songs through file exchanges rather than ordinary in-person sessions.
