Which historical region is the main setting of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?

The story behind the answer

England is the main historical setting of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

The game follows Eivor, a Viking who leaves Norway and settles with a Raven Clan community in England during the ninth century. The settlement becomes a base for exploring the country, forming alliances, raiding monasteries, and opposing rival forces.

Valhalla presents several Anglo-Saxon kingdoms and regions, including Mercia, Wessex, East Anglia, and Northumbria. Norway is also playable, and later downloadable content visits locations such as Ireland and Francia, but England contains the main campaign’s largest setting.

The game combines historical rulers and political conflicts with mythology and the series’ science-fiction framing device. Its depiction of the period is therefore an adventure interpretation, not a complete reconstruction of ninth-century English history.
