Which historical period is central to Assassin's Creed Origins?
Answer
Ancient Egypt
Answer
Ancient Egypt
Ancient Egypt is the central historical period of Assassin's Creed Origins.
The game is set mainly in the first century BCE, during the final years of the Ptolemaic Kingdom. Bayek of Siwa, a Medjay, investigates the forces behind personal tragedies while helping establish the organization that becomes the Hidden Ones.
Origins includes Alexandria, Memphis, Cyrene, Siwa, and other parts of Egypt. Its story features Cleopatra VII and Julius Caesar, connecting fictional characters to the political struggle surrounding the end of Ptolemaic rule.
The game is called Origins because it depicts the formation of the early Assassin organization rather than the later Brotherhood familiar from earlier titles. Its Egyptian setting is distinct from Odyssey's ancient Greek world, released one year later.
