Which headset did Meta release in 2022 as a higher-end successor to the Quest 2?

Meta Quest Pro was the higher-end headset Meta released in 2022 as a successor to the Quest 2 in its product lineup.

Meta announced Quest Pro in October 2022. It was designed as a premium mixed-reality and VR device, adding features such as color passthrough, eye tracking, face tracking, pancake lenses, and redesigned controllers. Its focus was broader than consumer gaming, including collaboration and professional use.

Quest Pro was not a direct replacement for Quest 2 at the same price. The two products occupied different positions: Quest 2 targeted affordable standalone VR, while Quest Pro emphasized sensors, comfort features, and mixed-reality capabilities.

The headset used the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 1 platform and remained compatible with Quest software. Meta later released Quest 3 as the mainstream successor to Quest 2, so Quest Pro and Quest 3 should not be treated as the same device.
