Which handheld console received Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire?
Answer
Game Boy Advance
Answer
Game Boy Advance
Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire were released for the Game Boy Advance.
The games first launched in Japan on November 21, 2002, and internationally in 2003. They began Pokémon’s third generation and introduced the Hoenn region, along with 135 new Pokémon such as Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Groudon, and Kyogre.
The Game Boy Advance allowed the games to use more colorful graphics and additional technical features than their Game Boy predecessors. Ruby and Sapphire introduced double battles, Pokémon Abilities, and Pokémon Contests. They also supported multiplayer connections through the Game Boy Advance link system.
The Nintendo DS later received the remakes Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, while the Nintendo 3DS received the remakes Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Those later platforms can cause confusion, but the original Ruby and Sapphire versions were Game Boy Advance titles.
