Guns N’ Roses’ “November Rain” has a music video that runs for over nine minutes and ends with a dramatic rain-soaked performance.
Directed by Andy Morahan, the 1992 video is built around a cinematic narrative inspired by the imagery of Del James’s short story “Without You.” It follows singer Axl Rose and his partner through a wedding, emotional conflict, and tragedy, while the band performs in a church and on an outdoor stage. Slash’s solo is one of the video’s central visual moments.
The song was released on the album Use Your Illusion I. Its video became one of the most ambitious productions of the early 1990s and was heavily rotated on MTV. The extended runtime made it more like a short film than a standard clip, helping it remain a frequent example in discussions of epic rock videos.
