Which gulf between Qatar and Saudi Arabia surrounds the islands of Bahrain?

The story behind the answer

Which gulf between Qatar and Saudi Arabia surrounds the islands of Bahrain? The Gulf of Bahrain does.

The Gulf of Bahrain is a shallow inlet of the Persian Gulf lying between Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Bahrain’s island group sits within it, including the main Bahrain Island and numerous smaller islands and islets. The gulf is separated from the wider Persian Gulf in part by Qatar’s peninsula, and its southern extension forms the Gulf of Salwah.

The gulf has played an important role in regional transport and trade. The King Fahd Causeway, opened on 26 November 1986, crosses its western section and links Bahrain with Saudi Arabia. A second proposed connection, the Qatar–Bahrain Causeway, has been discussed as a potential link between Bahrain and Qatar.

The Gulf of Bahrain is also an ecologically varied marine environment. Its shallow waters include seagrass meadows, coral reefs, mudflats and mangroves that support fish, turtles, dugongs and migratory birds. The Gulf of Salwah is a related geographic feature, not the best answer to the broader question.
