Which group released the 1995 album The Infamous?

The story behind the answer

Mobb Deep released the 1995 album The Infamous.

The Queensbridge, New York duo consisted of Havoc and Prodigy. The Infamous, their second studio album, was released on April 25, 1995, and became one of the most influential records of hardcore East Coast hip hop.

Its dark production, stark street narratives, and tightly focused performances helped define the sound associated with mid-1990s New York rap. Key tracks include “Shook Ones, Pt. II,” “Survival of the Fittest,” and “Temperature’s Rising.” Havoc handled much of the production, giving the record its bleak, atmospheric character.

The album is sometimes confused with Mobb Deep’s debut, Juvenile Hell, released in 1993. “Shook Ones, Pt. II” is also often called simply “Shook Ones,” but the celebrated album track is specifically the second part.
