Which Goodall children's book won a UNICEF award for best children's book of 1989?

The Chimpanzee Family Book won a UNICEF award for the best children’s book of 1989. Goodall wrote it to introduce young readers to chimpanzee family life and the animals she had studied in Tanzania.

Published in 1989, the book appeared through Picture Book Studio, with editions associated with Saxonville, Munich and London. It was translated into more than 15 languages, including Japanese and Swahili. Its subject reflects Goodall’s central scientific insight: chimpanzees live in complex social groups with enduring family relationships, individual personalities and learned behaviour.

The title is easy to confuse with Goodall’s other children’s works. Grub: The Bush Baby was an earlier book, while My Life with the Chimpanzees received a different children’s reading award in 1989.
