Which giant animated hedgehog is linked to Dinsdale Piranha?

The giant animated hedgehog linked to Dinsdale Piranha is Spiny Norman.

Spiny Norman appears in the “Piranha Brothers” sketch, from Series 2 of Monty Python’s Flying Circus. Dinsdale Piranha, the more psychologically troubled brother, believes that Norman is stalking him. The creature’s reported size changes according to Dinsdale’s mood, adding to the sketch’s deliberately unreliable absurdity.

The story escalates when Dinsdale’s fear leads to increasingly extreme reactions, including a nuclear attack aimed at a location where Spiny Norman is thought to be hiding. At the end, Norman appears in Terry Gilliam’s animation, confirming the character as more than merely an invention within Dinsdale’s account.

A common mix-up is to choose Bicycle Repair Man, another famous animated or surreal character from the series. Bicycle Repair Man appears in a different sketch; he is a mild-mannered bicycle mechanic treated as a superhero, not Dinsdale Piranha’s enormous hedgehog nemesis.
