Which game won the Best VR Game award at The Game Awards in 2016?
Answer
Rez Infinite
Answer
Rez Infinite
Rez Infinite won the Best VR Game award at The Game Awards in 2016.
Developed by Enhance Games, Rez Infinite is a rail shooter in which players travel through abstract electronic environments while locking onto and destroying targets. It is an expanded version of the 2001 game Rez, adding improved visuals and the Area X mode.
The 2016 award recognized one of the earliest major VR releases to combine a traditional arcade-style structure with immersive headset presentation. It competed during a period when consumer VR was expanding through devices such as Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR.
Rez Infinite is sometimes confused with Rez, the original Dreamcast and PlayStation 2 title. The VR award went specifically to the later enhanced edition, not the 2001 original.
