Frozen Fever is the Frozen short film in which Elsa catches a cold while preparing Anna’s birthday celebration.
Released in 2015, the short follows Elsa and Kristoff as they plan a surprise birthday party for Anna. Elsa’s illness causes her to sneeze, creating tiny snow creatures called snowgies that complicate the celebration.
Frozen Fever was directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, the same directors associated with the original feature. It also reunited the central English-language cast, including Kristen Bell as Anna, Idina Menzel as Elsa, Jonathan Groff as Kristoff, and Josh Gad as Olaf.
The title is sometimes confused with Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, but the two shorts have different holiday settings. Frozen Fever is about Anna’s birthday, while Olaf’s Frozen Adventure centers on Christmas traditions in Arendelle.
