Elsa says “The cold never bothered me anyway” in Disney’s Frozen.
The line appears near the end of “Let It Go,” Elsa’s major solo sequence. After leaving Arendelle, Elsa embraces her powers and creates an ice palace on the North Mountain. The statement presents her decision to stop hiding her abilities, although the wider story later shows that isolation has serious consequences.
Elsa is voiced in the original English version by Idina Menzel, who also sings the film performance of “Let It Go.” The song was written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. It became one of Disney’s best-known modern film songs and won the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
The line is sometimes attributed to Anna because Anna is the film’s other central sister and performs several important songs. However, Anna does not sing “Let It Go.” The lyric belongs to Elsa’s transformation scene, which occurs after she leaves the kingdom.
