Which Friends episode features Brad Pitt as Will Colbert?

Brad Pitt appears as Will Colbert in the Friends episode “The One with the Rumor.”

The episode is the ninth-season Thanksgiving story and originally aired in 2001. Will Colbert is an old high-school classmate of Ross and Monica. At the Thanksgiving dinner, he reveals that he and Ross once created a rumor about Rachel, who was unaware of the story’s origin.

The plot also establishes that Will disliked Rachel during high school and had belonged to an “I Hate Rachel Green” club with Ross. The joke works because Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston, who played Rachel, when the episode aired, giving the guest appearance an extra layer of celebrity context.

A common mix-up is associating Pitt’s appearance with “The One with the Football,” another Thanksgiving episode, or with Ross’s other school friends. “The One with the Rumor” is the specific title connected to Will Colbert and the high-school rumor storyline.
