Which French luxury group owns Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Tiffany & Co.?

The story behind the answer

LVMH owns Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Tiffany & Co.

LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton is the world’s largest luxury-goods company by revenue and a frequent member of the world’s most valuable public companies by market capitalization. Its portfolio spans fashion, leather goods, perfumes, cosmetics, watches, jewelry, wines, and spirits.

The group was formed in 1987 through the merger of Louis Vuitton and Moët Hennessy. Bernard Arnault became its controlling shareholder and chairman and chief executive. LVMH later expanded through acquisitions, including Tiffany & Co., whose purchase was completed in 2021.

LVMH is not the same as Kering, which owns brands such as Gucci and Saint Laurent, or Richemont, whose portfolio includes Cartier. Luxury groups are often compared by market value, but their rankings can shift with currency movements, tourism, consumer demand, and brand performance.
