The French luxury brand that created the perfume J’adore is Dior.
J’adore is a fragrance from Parfums Christian Dior, launched in 1999. French master perfumer Calice Becker created the original composition, which became known for its opulent floral character and its distinctive bottle with a curved, amphora-like silhouette designed by Hervé Van der Straeten.
The name is French for “I love,” and its wording also creates a playful association with the Dior name in the advertising phrase “J’adore Dior.” The fragrance helped establish a highly recognizable modern identity for Dior’s beauty business, separate from the house’s couture and fashion offerings.
J’adore is sometimes confused with Dior’s other famous perfumes, especially Miss Dior and Poison. They are separate fragrance lines. The original J’adore has also spawned flankers and reinterpretations, including J’adore L’Or and lighter or more concentrated versions, so formulas and scent profiles can differ across the range.
