Which Fortnite mode is an arcade-style racing game?

The story behind the answer

Rocket Racing is the Fortnite mode that plays as an arcade-style racing game. Developed by Psyonix, it puts players in rocket-powered cars on stunt-filled tracks where drifting, boosting, jumping, and wall-riding are central to the competition.

The mode is closely connected to Rocket League, another Psyonix property. Rocket Racing carries over the idea of nimble vehicles and aerial movement, but structures it around races rather than soccer matches. Up to 12 players can compete, and tracks include sharp turns, hazards, vertical surfaces, and routes designed for repeated drifting and boost management.

Rocket Racing debuted inside the Fortnite launcher on December 8, 2023, alongside Fortnite’s broader expansion into distinct experiences. It is easy to confuse it with LEGO Fortnite because both are separate Fortnite experiences, but LEGO Fortnite is an open-world survival and social game collection. Fortnite Festival is the music-focused rhythm experience, while Ballistic is a tactical first-person shooter. Rocket Racing is the one built specifically around arcade driving.
