Which Formula E team won the inaugural 2014–15 teams’ championship?
Answer
e.dams Renault
Answer
e.dams Renault
e.dams Renault won the inaugural 2014–15 Formula E teams’ championship.
The first Formula E season began in 2014 and featured all-electric single-seat race cars. e.dams Renault secured the teams’ title during the season, while its driver Sébastien Buemi finished second in the drivers’ standings behind Nelson Piquet Jr.
The team was a partnership between e.dams, founded by Jean-Paul Driot and Alain Prost, and Renault. Renault supplied important electric-powertrain expertise during Formula E’s early period. Teams initially used standardized cars and batteries, with greater technical freedom introduced in later seasons.
The teams’ championship is separate from the drivers’ championship. That distinction explains why e.dams Renault was the first teams’ champion even though Piquet won the drivers’ title. The first season ended with the London ePrix in June 2015.
