Arsenal v Coventry City opened the 2026–27 Premier League season.

The match was played at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium on Friday, 21 August 2026. Arsenal were the defending champions, while Coventry City were returning to the top flight after a 25-year absence. That made the fixture a meeting between the reigning champions and one of the newly promoted clubs.
