Which fixture ended the Saturday schedule in the 2026–27 Premier League opening round?

Brentford v Tottenham Hotspur ended the Saturday schedule in the 2026–27 Premier League opening round.

The match was played on Saturday, 22 August 2026, after five other fixtures earlier that day. It was scheduled as the late Saturday game, with a 17:30 BST kickoff and live coverage by Sky Sports.

Brentford won 3–0, producing one of the clearest victories of the opening round. The result gave the west London club a strong start while Tottenham began the campaign with a heavy defeat.

This fixture is easy to confuse with the round’s other late matches. Newcastle United versus Liverpool was played on Sunday, while Fulham versus Chelsea completed the entire match round on Monday. The Saturday schedule also included Hull City versus Manchester United and three matches at the standard 15:00 kickoff.
