Which Fire Emblem game was released on the Nintendo Switch in 2019?

The story behind the answer

Fire Emblem: Three Houses was released on the Nintendo Switch in 2019. Nintendo launched the game worldwide on July 26, 2019, making it the first mainline Fire Emblem title designed for a high-definition home console.

The game was developed by Intelligent Systems in collaboration with Koei Tecmo's Kou Shibusawa team. Players take the role of Byleth, a former mercenary who becomes a teacher at Garreg Mach Monastery. Early in the story, players choose among three student houses: the Black Eagles, Blue Lions, and Golden Deer.

The other options belong to different parts of the series. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia was released for Nintendo 3DS in 2017, while Fire Emblem Fates was also a Nintendo 3DS title from 2015. Fire Emblem Engage arrived on Nintendo Switch in 2023, not 2019. Three Houses is also notable for combining grid-based tactical battles with school-life, relationship, and time-management systems.
