Which fighter is known as 'The Notorious'?

The fighter known as “The Notorious” is Conor McGregor. The Irish mixed martial artist adopted the nickname as his public persona grew through his outspoken interviews, bold predictions, and aggressive promotional style.

McGregor was born in Dublin in 1988 and began his professional MMA career in 2008. He became a major international star after winning titles in both the featherweight and lightweight divisions. In 2016, he became the first fighter in UFC history to hold two UFC championships simultaneously, capturing the lightweight title after already becoming featherweight champion.

“The Notorious” is often shortened to “Notorious,” and it is specifically associated with McGregor rather than with his opponents or with the UFC itself. His left-handed striking, counterpunching, precision, and knockout power became central parts of the character. Fans sometimes confuse his nickname with “Mystic Mac,” another label linked to his habit of predicting fight outcomes, but “The Notorious” is the canonical nickname asked about here.
