Which fictional soap opera does Joey Tribbiani act in as Dr. Drake Ramoray?

Joey Tribbiani acts in the fictional soap-opera storyline of Days of Our Lives as Dr. Drake Ramoray.

Joey’s role as the neurosurgeon Dr. Drake Ramoray is his most important recurring acting job in Friends. He gains the part after auditioning and later loses it when the character is killed off. The show then uses Joey’s attempts to regain the role as an ongoing comedy plot.

Although Days of Our Lives is a real American daytime soap opera, Dr. Drake Ramoray is a fictional character created for Friends. Joey’s exaggerated belief in his own acting importance is a recurring part of his personality.

A common mix-up is choosing another real soap title, such as General Hospital. The fictional Friends storyline specifically uses the real title Days of Our Lives and gives Joey the fictional role of a neurosurgeon.
