Which fictional detective is the protagonist of J.K. Rowling’s Strike novels?
Answer
Cormoran Strike
Answer
Cormoran Strike
Cormoran Strike is the fictional detective who stars in J.K. Rowling’s Strike novels.
Strike is a private investigator based in London and a former Royal Military Police investigator. He first appears in The Cuckoo’s Calling, published in 2013 under Rowling’s pseudonym Robert Galbraith. His background gives him investigative experience as well as a complicated personal history.
Robin Ellacott becomes Strike’s secretary and later his investigative partner. Their professional relationship forms one of the series’ central continuing storylines. Each novel presents a new case while developing the characters’ personal and working lives.
Strike is sometimes confused with the name Robert Galbraith. Galbraith is the author pseudonym, not the detective. The series is also unrelated to famous detectives such as Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot, who were created by Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie respectively.
