Christian Dior designed Jennifer Lawrence’s blush-pink ball gown for the 2013 Academy Awards.
Lawrence wore the strapless Dior Haute Couture gown at the 85th Academy Awards, where she won Best Actress for Silver Linings Playbook. The pale blush dress had a full skirt and an exceptionally long train, which became central to the evening when she tripped on the stairs while going to accept her award.
The fall quickly became one of the ceremony’s most replayed moments, but the gown had already attracted attention for its dramatic scale and soft color. Lawrence paired it with a diamond necklace worn down her back.
People sometimes remember the design simply as “Dior” without distinguishing the house’s couture label. The official fashion attribution is Christian Dior Haute Couture. The necklace was a separate Chopard piece, not part of the gown’s design.
