Which expansion pack introduced seasons in The Sims 4?

The story behind the answer

The Sims 4: Seasons introduced seasons to The Sims 4.

Released on 22 June 2018, Seasons was the game’s fifth expansion pack. It added a yearly cycle of spring, summer, autumn and winter, along with changing weather such as rain, thunderstorms, heatwaves and snow. Temperature could affect Sims directly, making clothing choices and outdoor activities more important.

The expansion also introduced a customizable calendar and holidays. Players could create or modify traditions, decorate homes for events and celebrate occasions such as Winterfest. Seasonal changes affect gardening, activities and the visual appearance of the game’s worlds.

A frequent point of confusion is that The Sims 4 had weather-related effects and occasional environmental changes before Seasons, but it did not have a full, persistent four-season system until this expansion. Seasons also differs from packs such as The Sims 4: Get Together or City Living, which focus primarily on clubs and urban life rather than the game-wide weather cycle.
