Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange
Answer
Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange
The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange is the main securities market of Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates’ capital.
The exchange was established on 15 November 2000 as part of the development of a formal securities market for the emirate. It is commonly abbreviated ADX and is headquartered in Abu Dhabi. Listed companies include businesses from the United Arab Emirates and other sectors represented in the market.
ADX operates alongside the Dubai Financial Market, which serves Dubai, and Nasdaq Dubai, which has a more international focus. These exchanges are separate, even though all are located within the United Arab Emirates.
ADX’s principal benchmark is the FADX 15 Index, launched in 2022. The index is designed to track fifteen highly liquid and large companies listed on the exchange. The exchange supports trading in equities, bonds, exchange-traded funds, and other securities under the UAE’s regulatory framework.
