Tej Lalvani joined the British Dragon's Den panel in 2017 as a health and beauty industry entrepreneur.
Lalvani is the chief executive of Vitabiotics, the British company founded by his father, Kartar Lalvani. Vitabiotics produces vitamins and nutritional supplements, including well-known brands such as Pregnacare and Wellman.
His business background gave the panel experience in consumer healthcare, retail distribution and branded products. These sectors are particularly relevant to Dragon's Den because many pitches involve products that must move from an invention or prototype into large-scale retail.
Lalvani’s tenure is sometimes mixed up with that of other newer Dragons. Touker Suleyman and Nick Jenkins also joined in the mid-2010s, while Steven Bartlett arrived later, in 2022. Lalvani’s defining appointment year is 2017.
