Peter Jones has been the only original Dragon to remain on the British Dragon's Den panel throughout its run.
Jones is a British entrepreneur and investor whose business interests have included mobile communications, technology and leisure. He joined the original panel when the British series began in 2005 and continued as a Dragon through successive cast changes.
The original panel also included Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Simon Woodroffe and Doug Richard. Those investors later left the programme, while other Dragons joined in different series. This turnover is why the phrase “original Dragon” does not mean every original investor stayed.
Peter Jones is also frequently associated with the programme because of his long tenure and distinctive tall appearance. The question concerns continuity on the British panel, not ownership of the Dragon's Den format or the largest investment ever made.
