Which English forward joined Brentford from Burnley in July 2026?

The story behind the answer

Jaidon Anthony was the English forward who joined Brentford from Burnley in July 2026.

Anthony developed in the AFC Bournemouth academy and broke through as an attacking player capable of operating as a winger or forward. His direct running, pace and ability to attack from the left made him a useful transition threat, particularly when his team could release him into space.

He moved from Bournemouth to Burnley, initially on loan, and helped Burnley’s promotion push with eight goals. After making the transfer permanent, he scored another eight Premier League goals during the 2025–26 season. Brentford then signed him on 7 July 2026 for an undisclosed fee, agreeing a four-year contract with an option for an additional year.

Anthony is easy to confuse with other English forwards in the options, especially Dwight McNeil, who is primarily associated with Everton and later other Premier League moves. Nathan Redmond and Jay Rodriguez are also established English attackers, but neither made this Burnley-to-Brentford transfer.
