Which Dragons' Den investor founded the crafting business Crafter's Companion?

The story behind the answer

Sara Davies founded the crafting business Crafter's Companion.

Davies created Crafter's Companion in 2005 while she was a student at the University of York. The company began after she developed a tool for making envelopes with an envelope board. It grew into a craft-products business selling tools, materials and equipment to customers in Britain and internationally.

She joined Dragons' Den as an investor in 2019, bringing direct experience of building a product company from an early-stage idea. That makes her role distinctive: Davies was both a successful entrepreneur before joining the panel and a Dragon evaluating other founders' businesses.

Crafter's Companion is not the same as a generic craft shop or a television craft programme. Its name identifies the company Davies founded, while her television role concerns investment decisions. The business's origin in a practical product developed for card-making and paper crafts is often highlighted as an example of solving a specific customer problem.
