Which director directed Fast Five?
Answer
Justin Lin
Answer
Justin Lin
Justin Lin directed Fast Five. Released in 2011, the film was Lin's third Fast & Furious feature after The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and Fast & Furious, and it marked a major turning point in the series.
Under Lin's direction, the franchise moved beyond its early emphasis on underground street racing and became a global heist-action series. Fast Five brings together characters from earlier films for a plan to steal $100 million from corrupt Brazilian businessman Hernan Reyes while Dom, Brian, and their allies are pursued by DSS agent Luke Hobbs.
The film also introduced Dwayne Johnson's Hobbs and expanded the ensemble format that became central to later installments. Its signature action sequence involves a massive vault being dragged through the streets of Rio de Janeiro, combining practical stunt work with visual effects.
Lin continued directing Fast & Furious 6 and later returned for F9. The other options refer to directors of different entries: Rob Cohen directed the 2001 original, F. Gary Gray directed The Fate of the Furious, and James Wan directed Furious 7.
