Which department does Keith Bishop work in at Wernham Hogg? The answer is Accounts.

Keith Bishop works in the accounts department at Wernham Hogg. Played by Ewen MacIntosh, Keith is a minor but memorable employee in The Office (UK), known for his flat delivery, indifference to office life and unexpectedly blunt comments.

Keith’s role is part of the show’s detailed portrait of a fictional paper merchant’s branch in Slough. While David Brent manages the office, other departments—including sales, reception, the warehouse and accounts—create the ordinary corporate environment that the mockumentary observes. Keith’s lack of enthusiasm makes him an effective contrast to Brent’s constant need for attention.

A common mix-up is with Gareth Keenan, who is associated with management and team leadership, or Lee, who works in the warehouse. Keith is not a salesperson or receptionist: the series identifies him specifically as an accounts worker. His deliberately awkward presence helps make Wernham Hogg feel like a real workplace populated by people with very different attitudes to their jobs.
