Which C.S. Lewis novel has Orual as its narrator?
Answer
Till We Have Faces
Answer
Till We Have Faces
Till We Have Faces has Orual as its narrator.
Published in 1956, Till We Have Faces is Lewis’s retelling of the ancient myth of Cupid and Psyche. Orual, the first-person narrator, is a princess who becomes queen of the fictional kingdom of Glome. Her account examines love, jealousy, grief, accusation, and the difficulty of seeing oneself honestly.
The novel differs from the Narnia books in setting, tone, and narrative method. Lewis considered it one of his best works, and many critics regard it as his most psychologically complex novel. Its title comes from the idea that a person must confront reality without the masks created by self-deception.
