Which C.S. Lewis novel follows the Pevensie children back into Narnia after their first adventure?

The story behind the answer

Prince Caspian is the C.S. Lewis novel that follows the Pevensie children back into Narnia after their first adventure.

Published in 1951, the book is the second Narnia novel in publication order. Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy return to Narnia from a railway station and discover that centuries have passed there, even though only about a year has passed in their own world.

The children meet Prince Caspian, the rightful heir to the Narnian throne. Caspian has fled from his uncle Miraz, who seized power and wants to establish a human-dominated kingdom. With help from loyal Narnians, the Pevensies support Caspian’s attempt to reclaim his crown.

The title is sometimes confused with the film title The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, released in 2008. The novel itself was published decades earlier and was followed by The Voyage of the Dawn Treader in 1952.
