Which C.S. Lewis fantasy series contains the seven books known as The Chronicles of Narnia?
Answer
The Chronicles of Narnia
Answer
The Chronicles of Narnia
The seven-book fantasy series by C.S. Lewis is The Chronicles of Narnia.
Published between 1950 and 1956, The Chronicles of Narnia follows human children who enter or interact with the magical world of Narnia. The books include talking animals, mythical creatures, enchanted objects, and the central figure Aslan, a lion who represents the series’ principal moral and spiritual authority.
The stories were not published in the fictional chronological order of Narnia’s history. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe appeared first in 1950, while The Magician’s Nephew, which explains Narnia’s creation, was published sixth. Readers and publishers have therefore sometimes debated whether the series should be read in publication order or internal chronological order.
The collection is a series rather than a single novel. Its seven titles are The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Silver Chair, The Horse and His Boy, The Magician’s Nephew, and The Last Battle.
