Which C.S. Lewis book introduced the land of Narnia in 1950?
Answer
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Answer
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe introduced C.S. Lewis’s fictional land of Narnia in 1950.
The novel follows Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie after Lucy discovers a passage through a wardrobe. Inside Narnia, they encounter the White Witch, the faun Mr. Tumnus, and Aslan, the great lion who rules as Narnia’s creator and king.
Although it is the first Narnia book published, Lewis later wrote The Magician’s Nephew as a prequel to the series’ internal chronology. That difference explains why reading-order discussions sometimes place The Magician’s Nephew first.
The book became one of the best-known works of children’s fantasy and established recurring themes across the Chronicles of Narnia, including sacrifice, betrayal, restoration, and moral courage.
