Which course will host the 2025 Open Championship?
Answer
Royal Portrush
Answer
Royal Portrush
Royal Portrush hosted the 2025 Open Championship. The tournament returned to the Dunluce Links in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, for the 153rd edition of golf’s oldest major.
Royal Portrush became the first course outside England and Scotland to host The Open when it staged the championship in 1951. After a 68-year gap, it returned in 2019, when Ireland’s Shane Lowry won. The 2025 championship marked the venue’s third Open.
The course is known for dramatic coastal terrain, firm running fairways and demanding holes such as the par-three third, often called Calamity Corner. Royal Portrush is also distinct because it is in Northern Ireland, one of the United Kingdom’s constituent countries. Carnoustie, St Andrews and Royal Troon are all Scottish courses and have hosted other editions of The Open.
