The inaugural 1907 Isle of Man TT was held on the St John's Short Course.
The first motorcycle Tourist Trophy took place on 28 May 1907, before the famous Snaefell Mountain Course existed as the TT’s standard venue. The St John's Short Course began at St John's and ran through Ballacraine, Kirk Michael and Peel before returning to the start.
It measured roughly 15 miles per lap, and the inaugural races covered ten laps for a total distance of about 158 miles. The event used public roads closed for racing and a time-trial format, with riders starting in pairs rather than lining up for a conventional mass start.
The meeting had separate single-cylinder and twin-cylinder classes. Charlie Collier won the single-cylinder race on a Matchless, while Rem Fowler won the twin-cylinder class on a Norton-Peugeot. The Snaefell Mountain Course first hosted the TT in 1911, making it a common but historically later answer.
