Answer

Answer
Vietnam
Which country's currency is the dong? Vietnam's currency is the Vietnamese đồng, commonly written as dong in English.
The đồng is issued by the State Bank of Vietnam and has the ISO currency code VND. The modern unified đồng entered use on 3 May 1978, after Vietnam was reunified. Earlier versions had been issued by both North Vietnam and South Vietnam, replacing the French Indochinese piastre.
The word đồng is Sino-Vietnamese for “copper,” reflecting the historical use of copper money. The currency was once divided into hào and xu, but inflation made these subunits obsolete. Vietnam now primarily uses banknotes, including polymer notes introduced for higher denominations from 2003 onward.
A common mix-up is confusing the Vietnamese đồng with the Lao kip or Cambodian riel, which are separate currencies used in neighbouring Southeast Asian countries. Vietnam's highest widely circulated banknote is the 500,000-đồng note, while the currency symbol is ₫ and its international code is VND.
