Which country’s chart first listed Taylor Swift’s “august” at number 7 in 2022?

The Philippines chart listed Taylor Swift’s “august” at number seven in 2022.

The placement came during the song’s renewed seasonal popularity, when listeners around the world returned to it during August. The track had originally charted in several countries after Folklore’s release, but later annual resurgences brought it to new charts and new peaks.

In the same 2022 period, “august” also appeared on charts in Indonesia and Vietnam. Those results were different: it reached number 17 in Indonesia and number 85 in Vietnam. Keeping the countries and positions separate is important because the figures are easy to mix up.

The song’s international activity shows how a track can gain a second life through recurring cultural habits. Its yearly August attention extended well beyond the United States and the original 2020 album campaign.
