China won all four table tennis gold medals at the 2012 London Olympics.
The four events were men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s team, and women’s team. China’s champions were Zhang Jike in men’s singles, Ding Ning in women’s singles, and the Chinese men’s and women’s teams in the two team competitions.
This sweep extended China’s extraordinary Olympic record in the sport. Table tennis had been on the Olympic program since 1988, and China had won at least one gold medal at every Olympic edition featuring the sport before London.
China also collected silver medals in both singles events, producing all-Chinese singles finals. Zhang Jike defeated Wang Hao in the men’s final, while Ding Ning defeated Li Xiaoxia in the women’s final.
