The Kuwait Towers are landmark towers in Kuwait, standing on the Arabian Gulf waterfront in Kuwait City.
The complex opened in 1979 and consists of three towers. The main tower has two spherical structures, including a revolving observation sphere and a water tank. The second tower also stores water, while the smallest tower provides illumination for the other two.
The towers were designed by the Danish architecture firm Malene Bjørn and commissioned by the Kuwait government as part of a modern water-storage system. Their distinctive blue-green spheres make them one of Kuwait’s best-known visual symbols.
They are sometimes confused with Bahrain’s Pearl Monument or Qatar’s Aspire Tower, but the Kuwait Towers are specifically associated with Kuwait City and the country of Kuwait.
