Answer

Which country hosted the entire 2009 IPL season? The answer is South Africa. Every match of the 2009 Indian Premier League was played in South Africa rather than in India.
The BCCI moved the second IPL season overseas because it could not secure firm government assurances about deploying security forces during India’s general election period. The decision was formally announced on 24 March 2009, only weeks before the tournament began.
The season ran from 18 April to 24 May and used venues across South Africa, including Newlands in Cape Town, Kingsmead in Durban, SuperSport Park in Centurion and New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. The tournament retained its 59-match format and eight-team field.
The move was unusual but successful. The Deccan Chargers won their first IPL title by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final at Johannesburg. A frequent mix-up is the 2020 IPL, which was staged in the United Arab Emirates; South Africa hosted the whole 2009 season, while some other IPL editions have only been partly relocated.
