Which country hosted the 2018 Overwatch World Cup final?

The United States hosted the 2018 Overwatch World Cup final. The championship stage was held at BlizzCon 2018 in Anaheim, California, bringing the national-team competition to Blizzard Entertainment’s annual convention.

South Korea won the tournament, defeating China in the final. The United States therefore hosted the deciding matches but did not win the championship. This distinction is important because South Korea had dominated the event’s early editions and remained the team most associated with the competition.

The Overwatch World Cup differed from the Overwatch League. The league used permanent city-based organizations, while the World Cup assembled national or regional representative teams for an international tournament.

BlizzCon also hosted other esports finals, so venue and event names can be mixed up. In 2018, the Overwatch World Cup final took place at the Anaheim convention rather than at an Overwatch League arena.
