Which country hosted Bob Marley’s final concert, held in Pittsburgh in 1980?

The story behind the answer

The United States hosted Bob Marley’s final concert, held in Pittsburgh in 1980.

Marley performed his final concert at the Stanley Theater in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on 23 September 1980. The show was part of the Uprising Tour, supporting the album Uprising, which had been released earlier that year.

Soon afterward, Marley’s worsening health forced the cancellation of the tour. He had been diagnosed with acral lentiginous melanoma, a form of skin cancer, in 1977. Although he continued recording and touring for a time, the illness eventually prevented further performances.

The final concert is sometimes confused with Marley’s final public appearances in Europe or with his last recording sessions. Pittsburgh was the location of the last completed concert performance, and the country was the United States.
