Who directed the 2024 biographical film Bob Marley: One Love?
Answer
Reinaldo Marcus Green
Reinaldo Marcus Green directed the 2024 biographical film Bob Marley: One Love.
The film dramatizes key parts of Marley’s life and career, focusing especially on the period surrounding the Smile Jamaica concert, his move to London, the creation of Exodus, and his return to Jamaica for the One Love Peace Concert. Kingsley Ben-Adir portrays Marley, while Lashana Lynch plays Rita Marley.
The movie was produced with involvement from members of Marley’s family and was released theatrically in February 2024. Its title comes from Marley’s famous song “One Love,” although the film is not a concert movie or a complete chronological documentary.
Kevin Macdonald directed the separate 2012 documentary Marley. That distinction is a common source of mix-ups when identifying the director of the 2024 feature film.
