Which console received Fortnite Battle Royale on June 12, 2018?

Fortnite Battle Royale received its Nintendo Switch release on June 12, 2018.

Epic announced the port during a Nintendo Direct presentation held around E3 2018. The release made Fortnite available on another major portable platform and supported cross-platform play with most other systems at the time.

The Switch version was free to download and quickly attracted players: it reportedly passed two million downloads within its first day. Players could also connect an Epic Games account to carry compatible progress, such as Battle Pass progress and cosmetics, between platforms.

A common mix-up is confusing this launch with Fortnite’s mobile releases. The iOS version became widely available in April 2018, while the Android beta arrived later in August. The June 12 date specifically identifies the Nintendo Switch launch.
