Which console first received the Pokémon Snap photography game?

The story behind the answer

The Pokémon Snap photography game first appeared on the Nintendo 64.

Pokémon Snap was released in Japan on March 21, 1999, and was developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo. Players control Todd Snap, a photographer who rides through courses on Pokémon Island and photographs Pokémon in their natural environments.

The game differs from the main role-playing games because its objective is not to catch Pokémon in Poké Balls. Instead, Professor Oak evaluates the player’s pictures for subject placement, size, pose, and other qualities.

Pokémon Snap was originally planned for the Nintendo 64DD, but development moved to the standard Nintendo 64 because of delays surrounding that peripheral. Its 1999 cartridge also supported an unusual photo-printing promotion through Japanese Lawson stores and American Blockbuster locations.
